Discover the different types of intellectual property (IP) that arise from academic health research including patents, trademarks, copyright and trade secrets.
This workshop, the third of our Innovation Academy series, presents the different types of intellectual property (IP) that arise from academic research including patents, trademarks, copyright and trade secrets. King’s IP & Licensing managers will explain what is required for patentability, the concept of freedom to operate and why it is essential, before protecting your IP, to not communicate publicly or publish an invention. Routes to market for your innovation, will be explored including the differences between out-liscencing and forming a spin-out company. We will also present the new IP Code of Practice at King's and how it supports commercialisation of your research.
The workshop will be delivered by members of the IP & Licensing team and the Translational Research Office who have a wealth of experience supporting the King's research community.
King's Innovation Catalyst events are open to King's researchers, post-graduate students and professional services colleagues across all faculties and institutes.
All registrants will be asked to confirm their King's K Number on booking.
